Hatem is an assistant professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the United States Naval Academy. Previously, he worked as a graduate research assistant at The George Washington University and as an Electrical Engineering Instructor at Johns Hopkins University, Center for Talented Youth.
Hatem's research interests sit at the intersection of electrical engineering and applied physics and fall within the field of characterizing and modeling functional magnetic materials. His teaching philosophy adopts active-learning strategies to inspire lifelong learning.
